FYC Offers Academic Coaching

In addition to personal, one-on-one academic and career advising, the First Year College now offers Academic Coaching for students being advised by First Year College advisers!

Academic Coaching involves a student and coach collaboratively working together to help the student manage his or her life as a college student. Just like a coach in any sport, the academic coach’s goal is to help the student perform to the best of his or her abilities.

Students who utilized Academic Coaching in Spring 2011 improved their GPAs significantly more than did similar students who did not use coaching.
